On this day, three men bearing three wishes come to the rogue planet. They seek the Witch and her powerful magic, in the temple of the Beast.
This film is an original medieval fable told through the science
fiction genre.

It features hand built sets.
a fully practical and puppeted monster costume.
2D and 3D animation to support practical magic effects.
This film is Colin Schooling’s thesis submission for Pratt Institute, which he graduated from in may of 2026.

It was shot on  an Arri alexa and blackmagic 6k camera, with composites in blender and after effects.
The film does not just take place in the throne room of the witch, we also see the harsh alien terrain of the exterior planet traversed by the third visitor on his journey to the temple.
These portions of the film were shot in a local quarry near Colin’s hometown, with the rest of the set being on a soundstage.

The film’s total budget remained under $1000, and hopes to show what can be achieved in the sci-fi genre with no money.
Colin Schooling (middle) is a recent graduate from Pratt Institute, this film is his thesis submission for the program. He wrote, directed, and edited the film, building out the sets, costumes, puppets, and special effects himself. He also had a lot of apprecited help and support from his good friends at Pratt (such as the other two in this photo).
